PacedMind in Claude and ChatGPT

Add PacedMind to Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and Codex with your PacedMind Cloud account: what each one needs, what it can do with your planner, and prompts to try.

Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and Codex reach your planner through PacedMind Cloud's MCP server, https://app.pacedmind.com/api/mcp. You need a PacedMind Cloud account. Each one signs in with that account in the browser, and you allow it once on PacedMind's page; no password, token or key goes into its settings.

Claude

In Claude on the web, in the desktop app or on your phone, add PacedMind as a custom connector:

  1. Open Claude connectors, then Customize → Connectors → + → Add custom connector.
  2. Name it PacedMind, enter https://app.pacedmind.com/api/mcp and select Add.
  3. Select Connect, sign in to PacedMind and select Allow (see Allow the agent).

Turn PacedMind on in a conversation's connectors menu. On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner first adds the connector for the organization.

Claude Code

PacedMind's plugin for Claude Code brings the server and PacedMind's skills together:

/plugin marketplace add Pacedmind/pacedmind
/plugin install pacedmind@pacedmind

Then open /mcp, select plugin:pacedmind:pacedmind and Authenticate: the browser opens PacedMind's page, where you sign in and select Allow. The tools appear as mcp__plugin_pacedmind_pacedmind__…, for example mcp__plugin_pacedmind_pacedmind__get_overview.

From a terminal, claude plugin marketplace add Pacedmind/pacedmind and claude plugin install pacedmind@pacedmind do the same. If you already added PacedMind by hand or with Connect in the desktop app (the server pacedmind), keep only one of the two, so the tools aren't listed twice: claude mcp remove pacedmind --scope user removes the hand-made one. Without the plugin, Connect to PacedMind Cloud has the commands.

ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, turn on Developer mode under Settings → Security and login.
  2. Open Plugins, select +, name it PacedMind and enter https://app.pacedmind.com/api/mcp with OAuth. ChatGPT registers itself with PacedMind; there's no client secret to copy.
  3. Sign in on PacedMind's page and select Allow.

Start a new chat and add PacedMind from the tools menu. Developer mode depends on your plan and your workspace's policy. These are the steps for a custom connection, until PacedMind is listed in ChatGPT's plugin directory.

Codex

codex mcp add pacedmind --url https://app.pacedmind.com/api/mcp
codex mcp login pacedmind

The Codex command-line tool and the Codex app share this entry. See Connect to PacedMind Cloud.

What it can do

Once you allow it, the assistant acts as you in PacedMind Cloud. It can:

  • tell you what's on your plate: today's date, overdue work, what's due or planned today, today's events, and agent sessions waiting for your review (get_overview);
  • add tasks with a description, sub-tasks, a Done when list, an estimate, a priority, a planned day and a deadline, and change, reschedule, complete or cancel them (Tasks);
  • organize areas and projects, order a project's roadmap and make tasks wait for each other (Areas and projects);
  • add, move and delete calendar events, show the day-by-day plan with your free focus time, and move a whole day's plans (Calendar);
  • save how you like to work, when you tell it to (Preferences);
  • show the Claude Code and Codex sessions working on your tasks and what they handed back (Sessions).

It can't change your computers' settings, answer questions for you or delete your account. Asking one of your computers to start an agent session needs two-factor sign-in, a connection you allowed after setting it up, and that computer's own settings; see What agents can do on PacedMind Cloud.

Claude and ChatGPT usually ask you before a tool that changes or deletes something runs. Check the dates and changes they propose.

Prompts to try

  • "What's on my plate today?"
  • "Add a task to call the dentist tomorrow at 9:00."
  • "Which tasks in my Apartment move project are still open?"
  • "Make the packing task high priority and add a sub-task to buy tape."
  • "Put a 30-minute call with the landlord on my calendar tomorrow at 10:00."
  • "I'm sick today: move everything to tomorrow."
  • "Break the website redesign down into tasks in a new project, and plan the first two for this week."

Your data

Tool calls go to PacedMind Cloud with what the assistant passes, such as a task's title or a date, and the answers carry your planner: tasks, projects, areas, events, preferences, summaries of your computers and agent sessions with their reports. Those answers become part of your conversation in Claude or ChatGPT, under that service's own privacy policy. PacedMind's privacy policy says what PacedMind keeps.

To end an assistant's access, select Disconnect next to it in PacedMind under Settings → Connected agents; see Connected agents. Disconnecting doesn't remove what's already in that service's conversations.

If something doesn't work

  • A connection that fails, or a sign-in that ends without access: start connecting again from the assistant, sign in to the same PacedMind account, and with two-factor sign-in enabled, finish its code step before selecting Allow.
  • Connect from one place at a time: two sign-ins of the same assistant started within a few minutes of each other sign both out, so connect it again.
  • This connection has planner access only: the connection was allowed without two-factor sign-in. Planning works; to start sessions on your computers, set up two-factor sign-in in Settings → Security, sign in again and reconnect.
