When Cloud ends

When the trial or the subscription is over, the account is read-only: what still works, the banners, subscribing again, moving the data to this computer, and deleting the account.

PacedMind Cloud ends when the free trial is over without a subscription, or when the subscription ends or isn't paid. The account then becomes read-only. Nothing in it is deleted.

The banner

A banner above every page appears when the plan needs attention, and only then:

What a read-only account can do

Everything in the account can still be read and deleted, on every computer and in the web app. Adding or changing anything is refused with PacedMind Cloud is read-only: subscribe to keep working in it, or move your data to this computer.

Subscribe again

Subscribe from Settings → Plan, as the first time: see Subscribe to Cloud. The account is writable again as soon as the payment goes through, with everything still in it, on every computer signed in to it.

Move to this computer

The account's data can move to one computer and stay there without an account, on the free One device plan. This works while Cloud is read-only, and only from the desktop app.

  1. In the desktop app on the computer that should keep the data, open Settings → Data. The Move to this computer button on the banner goes there too.
  2. In the Your account row, Keep it on this computer, without an account, select Move to this computer.
  3. Confirm the question Copy everything in your account to this computer and sign out? It replaces what this computer keeps without an account (a copy of that stays next to it). Images agents saved on your other computers stay there. Your account keeps its data until you delete it.

PacedMind then copies the data, signs this computer out, and opens Today with the data as this computer's own.

  • Tasks keep their keys, such as WRK-12. Sessions and their reports come along, with the images agents attached on this computer, and so do your preferences.
  • The project and task folders set on this computer stay with their projects and tasks.
  • What this computer kept without an account before is replaced. When it had projects or tasks, a copy of its database stays in the data folder as organizer-before-move-<time>.db. See Where your data lives.
  • The account keeps its data until it's deleted, and your other computers stay signed in to it.

Delete the account

Settings → Delete account deletes the account and everything in it: areas, projects, tasks, calendar, sessions and computers. It can't be undone.

  1. Type the account's email under Your email. With two-factor sign-in enabled, enter a current authenticator code under Code. Otherwise enter your current password, or select Confirm by email instead, open the link and return within five minutes with the password blank.
  2. Select Delete account, and confirm Delete your PacedMind account and all its data for good?.

While a subscription would still renew, the deletion is refused with Cancel your subscription in Manage billing first: it would go on renewing. Cancel it in Manage billing (see Cancel), then delete the account. Once the subscription is canceled, the account can be deleted, also before the paid period ends.

To keep the data without the account, move it to this computer first.
