Work hours and days
The focus hours, break and work days that the auto-planner fills, their defaults, and how to change them in Settings or through an agent.
The auto-planner only places tasks inside your work hours, on your work days. They're set in Settings → Planning, under Auto-plan: The week view fills free focus time between these hours, around your fixed activities.
| Setting | Meaning | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Focus hours | When work time starts and ends each work day. | 09:00 to 17:00 |
| Keep free | A daily break the planner leaves empty, such as lunch. | 12:30 to 13:30 |
| Work days | The days the planner uses. Select a day to switch it on or off. | Mon to Fri |
Changes save when a field loses focus, confirmed by Saved, and apply the next time a plan is made.
Where they show
- The week view shades the days that aren't work days and lists the hours under Rules in its Auto-plan panel. Change there opens Settings → Planning.
- The Timeline's Your time row uses the length of a work day, the focus hours minus the break, as a full bar.
Change them through an agent
Agents read the settings with get_settings and change them with update_settings:
update_settings
work_start: "08:30"
work_end: "16:30"
break_start: "12:00"
break_end: "12:45"
work_days: ["mon", "tue", "wed", "thu"]The work hours must start before they end, and so must the break. Times use the 24-hour HH:mm format; days are mon to sun.
Time outside work hours
Activities outside the work hours still show in the calendar, but they don't reduce the focus time. Tasks can still be planned for any day, including days off; the auto-planner just won't place focus blocks on those days.
The auto-planner
The rules the auto-planner follows to fill free focus time with your tasks, add check blocks for finished agent sessions, and report what didn't fit.
MCP server
PacedMind's MCP server gives Claude Code, Codex and other MCP clients the whole planner: PacedMind Cloud's, which agents sign in to with your account, and the desktop app's own, with an access token.
